“Policy decisions that will be made over the next 5 years will determine if we win or lose on climate.”
This statement is attention-getting, isn’t it? Climate Imperative is driven by it. This team has serious ambition, leadership muscle and financial support. It partners with experienced orgs, e.g., Energy Innovation (a non-partisan energy and climate policy think tank), to ensure that critical, near-term policy decisions in major greenhouse gas-emitting countries drive emissions reductions at speed and scale.
Are you a supporter of rapid scaling of renewable energy, widespread electrification of buildings and transportation, stopping the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure, reducing pollution from major industrial sources, and economy-wide pathways to reduce emissions from the biggest sources? If so, this is your tribe (potentially).
Hal Harvey is President of Climate Imperative and Founder of Energy Innovation. A Stanford engineering alum, Hal also helped create Energy Foundation China, European Climate Foundation, and the Indian Sustainable Energy Foundation. His team is currently scouting a Project Manager to support Board Liaison, Erin Malcolm-Brandt, with Board of Directors and Advisory Council engagement. Erin shares “This is a an awesome opportunity for someone who loves to plan, collaborate, focus on the details, and make an impact!”
What I love about this role is the apparent proximity to thought leaders you’ll have. (Via alignment with both Climate Imperative and Energy Innovation? It’s unclear.) Google Hal, Sonia Aggarwal (CEO, Energy Innovation), and the above-referenced Board and Council members and you’ll see what I mean. While I don’t think we need to genuflect at the altars of VIPs, I have found that being exposed to the thinking of influential people pushes my own critical thought processes so that I can better poke at (i.e., evaluate and improve upon) theirs. Food for thought.
