Deadline: January 31, 2023
Do you believe open access to climate data is important? Would you like to help open large climate datasets to advance climate research and innovation? If yes, check out this 12-month remote contract with Creative Commons, a global nonprofit working to expand the range of creative work available for others to build upon and share.
On the heels of receiving $1M in new support (woot woot!), the CC team, led by Catherine Stihler, is scouting an Open Climate Data Manager who can help create a long-term solution for the better sharing of climate datasets which are largely inaccessible to climate researchers and policymakers.
In this grant-funded role, you’ll join CC’s fully-distributed team and report to the Director of Open Knowledge, Cable Green, who’s been a CC leader for over a decade. Pay is healthy - $9,100 – $10,400/month, commensurate with experience and skills.
Overall, I love the global commons concept, and I think it’s exciting that you’d get to lead a new open climate data initiative with a revolutionary team. Certainly an impactful way to invest your talents in 2023! If you decide to apply, I suggest reading and aligning your application to the CEO’s thinking on where the org is headed (published Dec 20).
Don’t forget to build your network as you job hunt!
