I found out about this opening through my Stanford network. DC Design is a social impact strategy and design consulting firm that redesigns America’s social systems - e.g., criminal justice, foster care, healthcare, education, housing - to work better for everyone, especially low-income people of color.
Its cross-disciplinary team is looking for a Lead Designer to bring a human-centered lens to challenging social issues and to work with clients to redesign products, services, and systems. The team defines its Lead Designer as a social impact strategic consultant who uses design thinking, has a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a technical or design-related field, and 1-2 years professional experience.
To throw your hat in the ring for this role, click on “Apply” above and email your resume and cover letter to the team. This position is largely remote, with in-person elements, plus travel once safe. Salary is $60,000 - $70,000. Note: I have a longer job description for those interested. Ping me for a copy.
What I love
The founder’s story - don’t miss it! Trained in mechanical engineering and sustainable design, Durell Coleman is a two-time alumnus of Stanford University. Among his many accomplishments, he is the creator and director of Design the Future - an award winning STEM program that teaches high school students to design products for individuals with different physical abilities. Love!
And don’t forget…
You can follow this org, read about its team, and follow the team members whose profiles inspire you. This is a great way to build communal genius (aka your social impact scenius)!
