Unfamiliar? Fulbright is the largest program of its kind in the US, awarding more than 800 fellowships annually. Over 400 different types of opportunities are available to teach, research and conduct professional projects abroad.
Whether you are faculty, administrators, professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, or independent scholars, Fulbright has international opportunities to fit your needs and further your goals. Opportunities range from a few months to a full year. Find out which Fulbright award might be right for you here. You must be a US citizen to apply.
What I love
Fulbright is one of the most prestigious fellowships in the world. Alumni include 39 Heads of State, 60 Nobel Prize Laureates, 75 MacArthur Foundation Fellows, and 88 Pulitzer Prize Recipients.
The program welcomes applicants at all stages of their careers.
The award that is my personal fav is the Fulbright Global Scholar Award - you engage in collaborative research, teaching and research or pursue a professional project in 2-3 countries in at least 2 different world regions. Just wow!
Application Tips!
Before applying, join an Office Hour and/or register for a webinar and then connect with a few alum to explore their fellowship experience.
Set aside at least a month to pull together the many components of your application. It requires things like Letters of Reference. (The instructions alone are 20 pages!)
