Caution: the 3-min video below is a tear-jerker! Wet eyes as I type.
In 2011, Erin Loos Cutraro launched She Should Run, a nonpartisan nonprofit working to dramatically increase the number of women in public leadership positions in the US. The org’s vision - 250,000 women running for office by 2030.
She Should Run is actualizing this vision by meeting women where they are and helping them make connections between the leading they’re already doing in their lives and running for office.
The team is looking for a Director of Programs who can build on and direct the org’s tools, resources and community, all of which have been designed to cultivate curiosity about elected leadership.
You are an extraordinary project manager, builder and partnership cultivator with a bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience (among other quals). Location is remote (although DC or NY is preferred), and salary is $80K-100K.
What I love:
Erin was profiled in 2019 as one of Entrepreneur magazine’s 100 Powerful Women.
She and her team are driven to see historically underrepresented women play leadership roles in our democracy.
Their approach is brilliant - i.e., using their programs to get women from all walks of life to the starting line (not the finish line). Pipeline building!
Since the org’s founding, more than 26K women have been encouraged to run for office through She Should Run’s efforts, and over 18K women have indicated they are preparing for a future run.
The team will send an email to a woman of action in your life, on your behalf, as an invitation to consider running for office with the full support of the org’s mighty community resources. See Ask a Woman in Your Life to Run.
Tip!
If you’re thinking of running for office yourself (now or sometime in the future), join the She Should Run Community (it’s free). When you join, you receive unlimited access to all of the curriculum, content, and connection you need to begin confidently taking your first steps toward public leadership.
Don’t forget, you can build your network by:
