Priority Deadline: May 7
This is not the most inspiring job description…but the piece of work is!
The World Justice Project (WJP) is an independent org working to advance the rule of law worldwide. Esoteric stuff? No way. Everyday issues of safety, rights, justice, and governance affect all of us, thus everyone is a stakeholder in the rule of law.
Importantly, effective rule of law reduces corruption, combats poverty and disease, and protects people from injustices large and small. It is the foundation for communities of justice, opportunity, and peace.
Founded as an initiative of the American Bar Association in 2006 and led by Elizabeth Andersen, WJP and its team pursue their mission through research and scholarship, publication of a rule of law index, and engagement of a global network.
It is in the critical area of engagement that WJP’s Chief Engagement Officer, Ted Piccone, is recruiting leadership talent. Ted is scouting an entrepreneurial Director who will report to him and manage the org’s global engagement and outreach strategy, which includes broad and deep interaction with its members and partners.
You bring a strong international orientation and experience, as well as knowledge of rule of law issues, plus 5-8 years of experience and a Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience (among other quals).
What I love
The org’s website is laid out in such a way that a lay person like me can understand the team’s work and its importance.
Speaking from experience, building a global network is such dynamic and rewarding work!
Your role is described as “central to propelling the org’s impact.”
You’ll have the opportunity to groom a next generation of rule of law leaders as you supervise a small team of program associates, assistants and interns.
Don’t forget…
You can follow this org, read about its team, and follow the team members whose profiles inspire you - a great way to build your social impact scenius!
