Deadline: April 6
In 2020, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced the creation of a new division called Gender Equality and appointed the award-winning Anita Zaidi to lead it as President.
Anita and her team are responsible for leading the intentional integration of gender across the foundation’s global work, as well as investing in women’s economic empowerment, leadership, and removing the barriers for women and girls to thrive.
The team is seeking a Deputy Director to shape and execute the foundation’s new initiative, called Women in Leadership, which aims to improve women’s representation and influence in the fields of health, law, and economics in their priority geographies. You’ll report to the Director of Gender Equality, Jackie Jones, and have the opportunity to travel in this role.
You are a creative, thoughtful, and curious leader who has an excellent track record of achievement in roles of increasing responsibility, demonstrated experience and expertise in leadership development theory, practices, and application and a Bachelor’s degree plus 10+ years of experience (among other qualifications).
What I love
New division, new initiative, chance to build a team, and the full backing of the Foundation’s Co-Chair, Melinda Gates, whose work has led her to increasingly focus on gender equity as a path to meaningful change.
If gender equality is your passion, you like ground-floor, you’re qualified, and you’re ready to work with a pack of high (high!) (HIGH!) achievers, I think this is an amazing opportunity to create impact globally. Go get your seat at this table!
Tip!
You might benefit from reading Melinda’s recently published book, The Moment of Lift, which introduces readers to the inspiring women she’s met during her work and travels around the world and shares her own journey to becoming an advocate for women and girls.
Don’t forget…
You can follow this org, read about its team, and follow the team members whose profiles inspire you - a great way to build your social impact scenius!
