Deadline: May 10
Following the guilty verdict announced yesterday in the trial of Derek Chauvin, this feels like the perfect time to highlight a leadership opportunity in violence prevention.
The Center for Anti-Violence Education (CAE) envisions a world where the humanity and well-being of the most marginalized among us is secured, and its team has been working toward this vision for 45 years (sadly).
In its work to prevent hate violence, CAE centers the needs of women, girls, people who are Trans, Gender-Non Conforming and LGBQ, especially those at increased risk from racism and xenophobia.
The team, led by Loren Miller, is currently recruiting an emerging nonprofit leader to become its full-time Deputy Director. This is a new role for someone who is enthusiastic about strengthening and managing CAE’s operations and helping chart its future strategic direction and impact.
You bring a passionate commitment to, understanding of, and experience in anti-violence work and have a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in a nonprofit (among other quals). Salary is ~$80K, and the job will begin as remote with likely transition to limited office time in NYC in Fall 2021.
What I love
The Center’s programming looks potent, e.g., the Upstander Workshop.
This is a new role for you to shape and make your own!
Your Executive Director (Lorena) has over 25 years of planning, leading and advocating for social justice initiatives in the US and internationally. Likely someone you could learn A LOT from.
And the team looks talented and joyful, despite its heavy mission.
Don’t forget…
You can follow this org, read about its team, and follow the team members whose profiles inspire you - a great way to build your social impact scenius!
