Coordinator, Net Zero Accelerator
Environmental Defense Fund Seeks Emerging Professional (Hybrid)
Apply to Environmental Defense Fund
This opportunity in corporate sustainability quickly caught my eye. A respected org, interesting division, new initiative, new(ish) director building a team, entrepreneurial environment, hybrid work arrangement. However, do note the opportunity was posted mid-November, so if you’re interested, I suggest some immediate outreach to confirm recruitment is still active.
You’ve likely heard of the Environment Defense Fund (EDF). Active for 50 years, it bills itself as one of the world's leading environmental orgs. It has a division called EDF+Business (30 years old) that challenges the private sector to become better environmental stewards. Recently, this division launched a major new initiative, a Net Zero Accelerator, to arm companies with the climate implementation and innovation capacity needed to set us on a path to net zero emissions by 2050. In this role, you’d support this Accelerator.
I love the look of the vital work you’d be supporting, e.g., helping companies to have public net zero goals and transformation plans to achieve them. And you’d get to do this work in collaboration with Ellen Shenette, the Accelerator Director, under the leadership of SVP Lea Borkenhagen - two powerhouse professionals from a quick review of their profiles. Work location is any US EDF office (Boston, New York, Austin, DC, Raleigh, or San Francisco), and pay range is $56,000 - $64,000.
Note: If you’re interested in EDF, but not this role, the org is currently recruiting to fill 64 other positions internationally.
Don’t forget to build your network as you job hunt!
