A pain point I frequently hear about when working with or studying social ventures is how hard it is to find talent. MovingWorlds exists to address this pain point.
MovingWorlds is a growing social enterprise that acts as a matchmaker between orgs looking to solve challenges and professionals looking to have an immersive volunteer experience. Its efforts are helping accelerate the progress of the global social enterprise movement and enabling more people to work in world-positive careers.
In the last 2 years, MovingWorlds has doubled as an org and expects double-digit growth again this next year. This growth is driven by its fellowship, accelerator, and corporate programming. In response, the team is scouting a Community Manager who can help manage the learning, networking, and community pillars of these programs.
In this role, you’ll be working as a member of the Program Design and Management Team, reporting to the Director of Programs (wasn’t able to identify this person), and collaborating with Cole Hoover, Director of the MovingWorlds Institute.
You are early in your career, like structure and are eager to grow OR are a more senior person interested in working part-time. Either way, you are mission-aligned and bring experience that includes program coordination, management, and/or support, which includes a direct customer service component (among other quals).
What I love
The founders story - it all started with two people who share a passion for supporting global development.
This is a global, virtual team with hubs and partner sites around the world, so there is significant location flexibility.
The org offers a “bring your whole self” work culture that’s described as open, vulnerable, transparent, collaborative, growth-minded, and a little goofy. And it’s actively trying to build a team that is more representative of the diverse community it serves.
The position offers opportunity for growth, including financial, i.e., you’ll receive equity + a below-market salary. (Of note, MovingWorlds hopes to have all staff to market level salaries by mid-2022.)
Tip!
This is an in-depth job description with an in-depth application process. Be prepared to make an investment of time.
Don’t forget…
You can follow this org, read about its team, and follow the team members whose profiles inspire you - a great way to build your social impact scenius!
